As a Product Structural Engineer, you will lead the design and development of highly integrated products from concept to production. You’ll work closely with Industrial Design (ID) and Electrical Engineering (EE) teams to ensure manufacturability, reliability, and high-quality results. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. You’ll be the key bridge connecting design, electronics, and manufacturing teams, driving innovative solutions and smooth execution throughout the product lifecycle.
Lead product structural design, including overall architecture, detailed parts, tolerance analysis, and prototype verification.
Collaborate with ID to assess aesthetics, manufacturability (DFM), and provide guidance on materials, processes, and cost.
Collaborate with EE to ensure proper fit, thermal management, and EMI compliance for PCBs, batteries, sensors, and antennas.
Use simulations (stress, thermal, drop tests) to optimize structural performance and reliability.
Work with prototyping and manufacturing partners to resolve issues in pilot runs and mass production.
Drive technical innovation for strength, thermal, waterproofing, acoustic performance, and other critical product features.
Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Design, Mechatronics, Materials Science, or related fields.
3+ years of experience in structural design for consumer electronics, smart devices, or medical equipment.
Proficient in SolidWorks (preferred), Creo, or CATIA, with strong surface modeling skills.
Experience collaborating with ID and EE teams; basic ID design skills a plus.
Familiarity with plastics (injection molding, two-shot molding) and metals (die-casting, CNC, stamping) and surface finishing processes.
Bonus: basic electronics knowledge to interpret PCB outlines, FPC, and battery layouts.
Strong systems thinking, project management, and communication skills.
Curiosity and passion for cross-disciplinary technical innovation.
